With Daniels' Hail Mary heroics, the Browns defeat the Ravens while the Chiefs remain flawless.  With one of the season's biggest surprises, some high scoring, and a number of thrilling late finishes, the NFL delivered a spectacular Sunday in week eight. The Arizona Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers both won with the final kick of their games, while the humble Cleveland Browns stunned the fiery Baltimore Ravens with a quarterback change.  The Washington Commanders upset the Chicago Bears, and Jayden Daniels stole the show with a spectacular "once in a lifetime" Hail Mary against fellow rookie Caleb Williams.  The San Francisco 49ers increased their pressure on longtime rivals the Dallas Cowboys, the Detroit Lions reached a half-century, and the Kansas City Chiefs remained undefeated.  As the Browns defeat the Ravens, Winston shines.  With a touchdown pass to Cedric Tillman just 59 seconds from the end, new quarterback Jameis Winston led the Baltimore Ra...

The victim is seen lying in the roadway in the video, and it appears that Runcorn and Helsby MP are still hitting him.  According to Cheshire Police, a 55-year-old man was released pending additional investigation after willingly participating in a cautionary interview on the incident.  We've reached out to Amesbury for comment.  It follows a different video that was uploaded on X and allegedly showed Amesbury yelling and cursing at the man who was lying in the roadway in Frodsham, Cheshire.  "Mike Amesbury MP has been assisting Cheshire Police with their inquiries following an incident on Friday night," a representative for the Labour Party stated. The Labour Party has administratively suspended Mr....

You will be impacted by tax-raising budget for years to come- Rachel Reeves

You will be impacted by tax-raising budget for years to come- Rachel Reeves When Rachel Reeves becomes the first woman to brandish a red box outside Number 11 in the middle of the morning on Wednesday, no special Budget red box has been commissioned for her.  There won't be many jokes or frills, and don't expect a big surprise.  Liz Truss's abacus economists, bean counters, and data crunchers have regained their dominance. A boffin's budget will be in that repurposed red box.  It is, in fact, the complete antithesis of everything that was included in Truss's and her chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng's notorious mini-Budget two years ago.  Truss later concluded that the forecaster was involved in a "deep state" plot against her leadership after they infamously turned down an offer of an Office of Budget Responsibility (OBR) forecast.  This time, in addition to what has seemed like a protracted pre-Budget preparation schedule, the OBR has completed its comprehen...

The UK's financial watchdog and former Conservative chancellor Jeremy Hunt

Image
The UK's financial watchdog and former Conservative chancellor Jeremy Hunt   The two -are at odds over a study of the alleged £22 billion "black hole" in the national budget that Labour says it inherited. Hunt says the watchdog will violate neutrality.  To make up for the alleged deficit, chancellor Rachel Reeves is anticipated to increase a number of taxes in her budget on Wednesday.  However, Hunt claims that the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), which is not part of the government, will produce a report that day that will criticize his party and support Labour's tax increases.  However, Hunt claims that the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), which is not part of the government, will produce a report that day that will criticize his party and support Labour's tax increases.  The OBR's head, Richard Hughes, told Hunt that the report would not contain "decisions of ministers" and justified its release on Budget Day.  As Reeves present...

The most recent political news in Britain  Prepare yourselves for unpleasant reality, Starmer warns Ahead of a budget he claimed would repair deteriorating public services and spur economic growth, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will declare on Monday that he should be evaluated on his capacity to address the "unprecedented" economic issues he inherited.  In a speech before to the unveiling on Wednesday, Sir Keir Starmer will state that although the budget will embrace the "harsh light of fiscal reality," "better days are ahead."  The prime minister is likely to vow that the government will "run towards them" while warning of "unprecedented" economic obstacles as Labour gets ready for its first budget in nearly 15 years.  A raise in the National Insurance (NIC) rate paid by employers is one of several anticipated tax increases that the government is scheduled to announce. Some argue that this goes against Labour's manifesto p...
